St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery
History

Founded in 1897, St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church was first constructed in 1898 at the corner of Corkery Lane and the Black Horse Pike. In 1930, the church moved to its current location on Main Street, with the original property used exclusively as St. John’s cemetery. The church oversees the perpetual upkeep of the cemetery, including the recent addition of the columbarium erected in 2022.

Cemetery Plots

Saying good-bye to a loved one is never easy. Burial plots provide a place to visit, bring flowers, pray and remember those we have lost. Cemetery plots are available in two options: single space and side-by-side.

Columbarium Niches

St. John’s columbarium structure is designated for the interment of human ashes who have been cremated. The term "columbarium" comes from the Latin “columba,” meaning dove because the niches that hold the urns resemble those of dove houses. Within St. John’s columbarium, loved ones are laid to rest in niches designed to accommodate funeral home and crematory urns and containers. The compartments are engraved and sized to hold the remains of one to two people.

Matthew 11: 28-29

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
